Fox Army Health Center - Hours of Operation

ATTENTION Fox Army Health Center hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday

As a Reminder, the Health Center is closed on Saturday, Sunday, and all federal holidays, as well as Training Days listed in this document FAHC HOURS OF OPERATION 2024.
Advice Nurses are available during non-duty hours at 1-800-874-2273 to provide care advice.
Fox is an ambulatory care clinic and does not have an emergency room. In an emergency, dial 911

Emergency Room Visits

If you have an emergency, go to the nearest Emergency Room facility. Please call your healthcare team during clinic hours or the clinic Nurse Advice Line after hours at 256-955-8888 and request an authorization for the Emergency Room visit within 24 hours.

Urgent Care Visits

Call the Nurse Advice Line after clinic hours at 1-800-874-2273 if you need urgent care (NOT AN EMERGENCY). The nurse will provide you with instructions or direct you to an Urgent Care Clinic. Do not go to the Urgent Care Clinic without calling the Nurse Advice Line for authorization as your care need may not be considered an urgent health care need.

Appointments

Patients must arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled appointment to ensure your healthcare team has adequate time to address your concern. Please call 256-955-8888 for appointments or you can book online using TRICARE On-Line (TOL).

Behavioral Health & Neuro-Psychology Clinic

256-955-8888 ext 1032. Please come to Behavioral Medicine Department (2nd Floor) to complete a packet for provider assignment and appointment.

Immunizations

Monday - Friday, 0730-1600 with the last injection given at 1520. Immunizations is by appointment only at this time. Walk-ins are only available for Active Duty Service Members.

Laboratory and Radiology

Hours 0730-1600. No appointments needed. Please go to laboratory to sign in for laboratory and/or radiology. You will be escorted to the appropriate area for your procedure or checking out radiology films for a network provider referral. The laboratory closes at noon on the third Friday of the month.

Medication Check-Up

Hours 0730-1600. Review of all your medications, including prescription, over-the-counter, and supplements. Understand how your medications help you, identify medication problems, and compile a complete list of all your medications. Request an appointment: 955-8888, Option 2.

Optometry

Hours 0730-1600. Military Service Physicals and Periodic Health Assessments can be seen as walk-ins daily between 0800 to1100 only
Active Duty Service Members and their Dependents, as well as Retirees and Dependents with a Primary Care Manager at Fox Army Health Center are eligible for eye exam appointments.

Patient Centered Medical Home (Red White and Blue Clinics)

The Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Operational hours for the Red, White, and Blue teams are 0730-1600. PCMH is closed on weekends, Federal Holidays, and designated facility training days.

Pharmacy

0730-1600 M-F To ensure that all prescriptions may be filled, the last ticket will be given 15 minutes (1545) prior to closing. Prescriptions expire one year from original dispensing date except controlled substances which expire six months from original date. Keep the original package for refills. Physical Therapy

Hours 0800-1500. Please call 256-955-8888 ext 1034 for an appointment.

Referrals

You will receive a letter from Humana in the mail usually within 10 days of your clinic appointment with your PCM. Call the specialist for an appointment when you receive the letter. You are encouraged to take portions of your medical record (i.e. x-rays, labs, or clinical notes) that are applicable to your appointment with the specialist. Copies of referrals can also be obtained at www.humanamilitary.com, TOL or call 1-800-444-5445 for benefits and referral questions. Copies of your clinical notes can be provided to you by requesting from your clinic nurse at the time of your visit or you can request a copy from Medical Records. Please remember to bring your referral results from the specialist with you to your next visit with your PCM.

Classes

Call 955-8888 ext 1026 for an appointment. Classes: Weight Loss, Diabetic Education, Smoking Cessation,  and Cholesterol Management Class.

Blue Team

Active Duty, Trainees, or TDY Personnel

After receiving care from an Emergency Room or Urgent Care Center, you must be seen by Fox Army Health Center for follow-up and to obtain a referral for any additional studies, equipment, or visits. Call 256-955-8888 to make follow-up appointment.

Active Duty Physicals

Hours 07:30-12:00 and 1300-16:00, Mon-Fri. Call 955-8888 for appointments.

Active Duty Periodic Health Assessments (PHAs)

Parts 1 & 2 by appointments only. Call Central Appointments at 955-8888. Part II appointment is made during your Part I visit.
