Everyone reacts to stress and traumatic experiences differently. While some have reactions that can be seen as normal responses to life events, others may experience signs or symptoms of more serious conditions.
Mental health and substance misuse conditions can affect anyone;
you are not alone. The Military Health System has many resources available to help those who need it.

How to Access Care
- Referrals from your primary care provider are not required. Patients may walk into the Department of Behavioral Health during clinic hours and self-refer for services. If we cannot provide the necessary care, such as a child and adolescent psychiatry, referrals to the Huntsville network of providers will be made. Non-Active Duty Beneficiaries do not need a referral from Behavioral Health or the Primary Care Provider to be seen in the Huntsville network of care.

What TRICARE Covers
TRICARE covers medically and psychologically necessary mental health and substance use care. This includes both inpatient and outpatient care.
